Priorities

Sometimes people get so obsessed with something they like - an object, a sport, a famous person or whatever - that they just don't leave time for God. People today have a choice of who or what is number one in their lives. For example,

For people into fast, turbo-charged cars, it might be this Dodge Viper™...

... Or this...

...Or if your priority is alcohol and you are found to be DUI, your car might end up like this.

But there's only one right choice: God. If we seek God first, everything else will fall into place the way God wants it to. And while those other things come and go, God will never let us down. Jesus said, "Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal." Matthew 6:19-20 (NIV).
As a student, a medical one at that, there's always so much to do, so much to read and so much to memorise and internalise. They say sleep is a luxury for us meddies. I often find that I have very little time to do the things I want to do, let alone setting time aside just for God. Nevertheless, I have made the resolve to spend at least 5 to 10 minutes every day to do my QT (Quiet Time) no matter how tired I am... and so far I have not slipped up. Praise the Lord for that! => Therefore my point is, give God the time He deserves each day, and He will bless you!
There's something interesting I came across recently about why most students complain about not having enough time to study for the entire year. It goes something like:

It's not the fault of a student if he/she fails because the year ONLY has 365 days...

Typical academic year for a student:
1. Sundays - 52 Sundays in a year, you know Sunday is the Sabbath.
Days left = 313.
2. Summer holidays - 50 where the weather is hot and difficult to concentrate & study.
Days left = 263.

3. 8 hours daily sleep - 122 days GONE.

Days left = 141.

4. 1 hour for daily exercise/recreation (good for health according to HEP) - 15 days.

Days left = 126.

5. 2 hours daily for food & beverage (chewing properly & swallowing) - 30 days.

Days left = 96.

6. 1 hour for talking (man is a social animal) - 15 days.

Days left = 81.

7. Exam days - per year at least 35 days.

Days left = 46.

8. Quarterly, half-yearly and festival (holidays) - 40 days.

Days left = 6.

9. For sickness - at least 3 days.

Days left = 3.

10. Movies and functions - at least 2 days.

Day left = 1

11. That 1 day is your birthday! How can you study on that day ?!?!?!?!?!

Balance = 0

How can a student pass ????? =D

The result of Organic Chemistry being my bane in college. =)

All the best in your studies, cheers!
