Highlights

Ello everyone,

Remember when I told all you guys & girls that I would be uploading pictures with respect to university life in Monash University Malaysia (MUM)? Well, the post you've all been waiting for is finally here!! Contrary to popular belief, MUM medical students ARE NOT "super-nerds" who live by the phrase "All work, no play". In fact, there are some among us who are what you would call "camwhores"... The definition: You will need no further explanation as you scroll down this post. :)

The following pictures are accurate representations of what we MUM meddies experienced over the entire first semester... hanging out, having fun, watching movies, celebrating birthdays, enjoying good food & having an overall great time bonding with each other. So ppl, without further ado, I give you:
THE HIGHLIGHTS OF SEMESTER 1
At Transition Camp:

Playing water-balloon volleyball (best team-bonding game at TC)

During one of our pre-PCL discussions

Being exposed to an OSCE

Probably the highlight of Transition Camp where each PCL group had to put up a performance

This is one super-crammed photo =D

March 2008:

This is our faithful prayer meeting group

In the lift which we had to take to the 6th floor (skybridge) to have our prayer meetings. Toothpaste ad? :)

Joann's B'day: 20/3/08

Top & bottom: Celebrated on the 19th at Italiannies, Sunway Pyramid

Top & bottom: Celebrated on the 20th at Chilli's, One Utama

Adnan's B'day: 26/3/08

Top 3 photos: Celebrated at an Arabic restaurant in Ampang

Top & bottom: Celebrated at Manhattan Fish Market, Sunway Pyramid on the same day

We just love the camera (after watching 27 Dresses at Sunway Pyramid)

Just proves my point again... this time right after lecture with seniors Tak Yee & Joel

April 2008:

Terence's B'day: 20/4/08

Basically, we surprised him on his b'day by "marinating" him with unimaginable things e.g. flour, chilli sauce, condensed milk, etc. It was fun to watch and do... until he came and hugged you after that :(

After the "marination", he was "allowed" to go back to his room to get ready for his b'day dinner at Chilli's, Midvalley Megamall. Woot!

Genting Highlands day-trip: 21/3/08

Top & bottom: Posing... again!

Top & bottom: And again!!

Nice shot of me, Jun Yet, Rachel & Grace

Guess what we were pointing at?

Another super-crammed photo at the MUMEDS BBQ Night

And... another picture of our prayer meeting group. Notice Ah Sher meditating?

(L-R): Me, Ameerah, Adnan, Jess, & Ali

At Klang (yeah Grace, we know it's YOUR territory) after a wonderful seafood steamboat dinner

Top & bottom: Ice-cream at Swensen's, on a rainy day for that matter... Lol Terence, sounds familiar?

Taking a picture with church friends, among whom are 2 of my seniors, Dar Ray & Li Mae

p.s. NO, I did not forget to put in my b'day on the 30th, juz saving it for another post :)

May 2008:

Essentially, May was the month where we had most of our meddies adhering to our Friday "theme days", as well as some of our more interesting themes this semester. Scroll down to find out why...

Model of the general anatomic position =)

Beach Wear Theme Day

Formal Wear Theme Day

Don't ask what we were doing or why we did it

For some unknown reason, I blinked... Or at least I think I did

With Jess & Adnan

Monash-Tee Theme Day

Gothic Theme Day & Cheryl's B'day: 9/5/08

Some of the "normal", non-goth meddies (including me, duh!)

Samantha a.k.a Long Bean giving Cheryl a.k.a. French Bean a "Bean Hug"

The result of intensive planning for her b'day

We were all anticipating for her to cry... or at least shed a tear or two, which she didn't :(

But a very ecstatic b'day girl went home with more than she hoped for :)

Pink/White Theme Day (Unofficial)

Haiz.. Pat!! Be a lover, not a fighter!! :p

Top & bottom: We even take photos after lectures IN the Lecture Theatre

This is the end-product of what we did for Dr. Amudha on the last PCL lesson of this semester, for all her effort and love and "soul" she indwelt (or tried to :p) in us. PCL group A will definitely miss you Dr. Amu!!

Hillsong United Concert LIVE: 28/5/08

This was the 'bomb'! The motherlode of all motherlodes! Most rawkin concert of 2008 at Glad Tidings Church, PJ! Went with Sarah, Rachel, Nick, Zoe (Nick's gf), & Jun Yet (oh Samantha came as well, but she kinda disappeared with her other friends :D)

Wow, this must be my longest post ever with all the pictures! There's a whole lot more where they came from, yeah but I'm sure most of you are satisfied... You'd betta be!!

Other b'days in Sem 1 that I did not mention earlier are as follows:

Ali - 29/3/08

Arif - 3/5/08

Tshek Zen - 4/5/08

Jessreen - 6/5/08

Tak Yee - 21/5/08

Sukanya & Michele - 23/5/08

Han Sheng - 8/6/08

Jacelyn - 15/6/08

(sorry if I left out anyone or didn't feature your b'day above - there were either no pictures, not enough space, or both!)

Newae, this summarises the best moments we meddies shared and experienced together as a medical faculty... Hoping and praying hard that Semester 2 will be just as great... If not, better! Aite, happy holidays to all my fellow meddies!! Cya all soon!! Log back here for future updates!

~Tim~
